Yale Theater Renovation, Capitol Hill, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Prime Architects was hired by a local developer known for his vision and passion in bringing life back to urban gems in historic Oklahoma City neighborhoods.
Prime Architects was chosen to help restore the long neglected Yale Theater in historic Capitol Hill. The theater, located at 227 SW 25th Street, originally dates to pre-1910, with the facade and marquee updated in 1946 to the “art moderne” or late Art Deco style. Much of this remains intact, although very much neglected over the years.
Preliminary plans include restoring the theater’s 1946 facade and marquee sign, interior refurbishments, and various structural and roof repairs.
The theater will reopen as an event and wedding center for the Capitol Hill community and beyond.
